摘要: Polyvinyl alcohol nanoporous nanocomposite hydrogels containing various levels of Na-montmorillonite were prepared by a cyclic freezing–thawing technique. An exfoliated morphology silicate layers was observed for the hydrogels. The uniaxial tensile test indicated that modulus and strength increased with increasing content, while their elongation-at-break values decreased. results showed adding 15 wt% montmorillonite to polyvinyl hydrogels, molecular weight polymer chains between two adjacent cross-links decreased 56% effective cross-linking density up 353%. It is also all hydrogel samples had nanoscale pore diameters network mesh sizes less than 30 nm. structure confirmed transmission electron microscopy observations mercury intrusion porosimetry tests.
