摘要: Further investigation of the biological properties streptococcal cells and their components has produced a model erosive synovitis in rats. A single intraperitoneal injection an aqueous suspension whole cell sonicate group streptococci into Sprague-Dawley rats induced acute arthritis which evolved prolonged inflammatory process characterized by several complete or partial remissions, joint deformity, ankylosis. The toxic moiety is peptidoglycan-polysaccharide fragment wall persists tissue. Histologic features include exudative phase followed that leads to destruction cartilage subchondral bone fibrous ankylosis joints. arthropathic sonicates species are compared along with studies ability heat-killed, groups A, B, C induce Whole after latent period 57-120 days when injected 7-10 B tested.
