Expression of c-erbB-2 protein in keratinocytes of oral mucosal lichen planus and subsequent squamous cell carcinoma

摘要: Oral mucosal lichen planus (OMLP) is a well recognized disease with unknown etiology. Considerable controversy exists as to whether OMLP intrinsically premalignant, or if the disorder facilitates development of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OMSCC) by external factors. The aim present study was investigate expression c-erbB-2 protein in keratinocytes initial biopsies disorders diagnosed no evidence epithelial dysplasia, and compare results subsequent obtained from same patients. These were compared findings control groups (patients dysplasia OMLP, patients OMSCC normal mucosa). evaluated immunohistochemical staining gene product avidin-biotin-complex method using paraffin-embedded tissues sections. Five expressed one did not. None cases that subsequently showed protein, three specimens two negative protein. all indicated probability absence being an indication potential for neoplastic transformation dysplastic changes.
