摘要: Brain imaging studies have provided objective evidence of abnormal central regulation pain in fibromyalgia (FM). Resting brain blood flow reported mixed findings for several regions, whereas decreased thalamic has been noted by investigators. Studies examining the function nociceptive system FM augmented responses to both painful and non-painful stimuli that may be influenced psychologic dispositions such as depressed mood catastrophizing. Treatment approaches are beginning demonstrate potential improve our understanding pain-alleviating mechanisms. Data from other chronic conditions suggest idiopathic maintained similar abnormalities FM, with a known source not be. Future neuroimaging research is clearly warranted should continue factors involved maintenance symptom exacerbation.
