摘要: Neosporosis is an infection of animals caused by intracellular coccidian parasite, Neospora caninum, closely related to Toxoplasma gondii. The parasite one important abortifacient agents bovine abortions worldwide. aim the study was detect prevalence anti-Neospora antibodies in dairy aborting sheep from two eastern Slovak regions and compare it with occurrence other potential agents. Sera 382 sheep, mainly Improved Valachian Merino breed, were tested for presence anti-Toxoplasma ELISA, anti-Leptospira sp. micro-agglutination-assay anti-Chlamydophila using complement fixation test. mean seroprevalence N. caninum 3.7% T. gondii, 24.3%. This phenomenon higher susceptibility gondii opposite cattle. Anti-Leptospira observed 2.9% serum samples titres 800 1600, whereas IgG against Chlamydophila abortus found 13.6% 64 1024. Half positive sera simultaneously sample C. abortus. From examined most important, frequency point view, toxoplasmosis (24.3%) chlamydiosis (13.6%). No significant association between frequencies Kosice region determined. Likewise, no differences neosporosis detected. first survey Slovakia revealed a low resulting lower impact on reproduction losses these small ruminants.
