First molecular detection of Neospora caninum in European brown bear (Ursus arctos).

摘要: Neospora caninum is an important intracellular protozoan parasite with affinity to the central nervous system of many animals and a major causative agent repeated abortions in cattle. In total, 45 muscle, liver, or spleen samples brown bear sampled different locations Central Slovakia were examined by PCR. Genotyping N. was based on amplification Nc-5 gene ITS1 rRNA fragments subsequent sequencing. Presence DNA confirmed 24.4% (11/45) tested animals. The results obtained study confirm first molecular evidence European (Ursus arctos) Slovakia.
