摘要: Background: Electronic health (eHealth) and mobile (mHealth) approaches to address low physical activity levels, sedentary behavior, unhealthy diets have received significant research attention. However, attempts systematically map the entirety of field are lacking. This gap can be filled with a bibliometric study, where publication-specific data such as citations, journals, authors, keywords used provide systematic overview specific field. Such analyses will help researchers better position their work. Objective: The objective this review was use an eHealth mHealth related activity, diet. Methods: Web Science (WoS) Core Collection searched retrieve all existing highly cited (as defined by WoS) diet papers published in English between January 1, 2000 December 31, 2016. Retrieved titles were screened for eligibility, using abstract full-text needed. We described publication trends over time, which included countries eligible papers, well subject categories. Citations compared those expected based on data. Additionally, we highly-cited (ie, top ranked 1%). Results: search identified 4805 hits, 1712 (including 42 papers) analyses. Publication output increased average 26% per year since 2000, 49.00% (839/1712) being 2014 Overall throughout years, more citations than same WoS Journal Medical Internet Research most (9.58%, 164/1712). Most originated from high-income (96.90%, 1659/1717), particular United States (48.83%, 836/1712). trials studied activity. Beginning 2013, Generation 2 technologies (eg, smartphones, wearables) sharply increased, while 1 text messages) at reduced pace. Reviews accounted 20 (n=19 reviews). Social media, smartphone apps, wearable trackers encourage less and/or healthy eating focus 14 papers. Conclusions: study highlighted rapid growth field, emphasized sizeable contribution countries, pointed interest technologies.
