PGF2α, LH, testosterone, oestrone sulphate, and cortisol plasma concentrations around sexual stimulation in jackass

摘要: Abstract Many hormones are involved in the regulation of male reproductive functions, controlling sexual behavior, and influencing arousal, onset erection ejaculation, post-ejaculatory detumescence. The aims this study were to analyze plasma concentrations 15-ketodihydro-PGF 2α (PGFM), LH, testosterone (T), oestrone sulphate (OS), cortisol (C) relation stimulation evaluate possible correlations among circulating between semen characteristics donkey stallion. Thirteen sexually experienced Martina Franca jackass proven fertility enrolled was collected through an artificial vagina. Plasma samples at 12, 9, 6 3 min before oestrous jenny exposure, first mating arena presence jenny, during dismounting, 3, 6, 9 12 after ejaculation box, then every 10 following 50 min. PGFM showed increasing trend with significant differences pre-ejaculatory period, suggesting a role hormone control ejaculation. LH significantly higher concentration compared last samples, while T levels erection, probably for its influence on these processes behavior. Finally, OS did not show any difference period observation, C presented increase only 22 minutes erection. hormonal correlation found positive one positively correlated total progressive motility, respectively.
