摘要: The interaction between pedospheric and atmospheric sulfur nutrition was studied in seedlings of Norway spruce. Spruce grown on a 25% Hoagland nutrient solution containing S-35-sulfate simultaneously exposed to 250 nl 1(-1) SO2 or H2S. A 6-day exposure H2S resulted substantial increase the total concentration needles. This could be ascribed increased needle concentrations sulfate, water-soluble non-protein thiols organic sulfur. slight but significant increases compounds roots. In all fractions, except there decrease level S-35 root fractions upon exposure, demonstrating that spruce able switch from sulfate as source for growth. needles, amount decreased S glutathione fraction, whereas it sulfate. supports continued import taken up by roots into needles spite channeling synthesis greater part due unlabeled S, which points towards metabolic oxidation Increased (including sulfate) were mainly indicating an foliage. significance translocation reduced is discussed.
