摘要: Abstract Bender element (BE) tests of saturated sand have increased interest to researchers currently. However, the measurement small strain modulus from BE shows large difference between and dry conditions. In this study, a type clean (Fujian sand) two types natural sands (Hangzhou Nanjing were performed. For purposes comparison, resonant column (RC) test torsional shear (TS) also carried out on same specimen. The factors that influence determination travel time wave in are discussed reliable method for shear-wave velocity is obtained. It found velocities Vs Fujian (clean Hangzhou (natural obtained 5–10% greater than those RC TS tests. BE, show good agreement with maximum about 3%. Sands various fines contents tested an attempt explain differences sands. Biot׳s theory accounting dispersion was employed interpret results indicate content plays important effect hydraulic conductivity, which affects relative motion soil particles fluid when high frequency propagates Based this, proposed both
