摘要: Results from a magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE) spectroscopy study of ground state heavy-hole and light-hole excitons in GaAs/Al0.3Ga0.7As single quantum wells, with widths ranging 4.3 nm to 14 nm, are presented. A novel setup signal analysis procedure was adopted whereby polar MOKE measurements magnetic fields up 1.8 T could be performed conventional H-frame electromagnet. first principles simulation based used for simultaneously analyzing both the measured rotation ellipticity spectral lineshapes is described detail. The Zeeman splitting obtained above helped determine longitudinal Lande g-factors. hole g-factors were found vary well width, −0.6 1.1 heavy-holes 6.5 8.6 light-holes. While g-factor values fair agreement expected k·p perturbation theory, no evidence support theoretical predictions possible width dependent giant l...
