Bleeding and ovulation control with use of a small contraceptive vaginal ring releasing levonorgestrel and estradiol

摘要: Abstract Levonorgestrel and estradiol releasing contraceptive vaginal rings (CVR) with an outer diameter of 50 mm were used by twenty women. The treatment was given in three-week cycles followed one treatment-free week. planned to cover six cycles. All subjects kept records bleeding controlled clinically the course treatment. Three blood sampling. Plasma levonorgestrel, estradiol, progesterone gonadotropins determined. experienced no difficulties using CVR 90 per cent continued through whole experimental period months. One subject discontinued after three because irregular bleedings five urinary discomfort. Regular observed only nine cases started situ during last days period. Breakthrough occurred remaining eight subjects. subjective side-effects as follows: weight gain four subjects, oedema discomfort subject.
