摘要: Hypertension is associated with an impairment of endothelium-dependent relaxation. The angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors captopril and cilazapril can prevent this endothelial dysfunction. We recently observed that long-term treatment could also subendothelial infiltration by mononuclear cells in spontaneously hypertensive rats. This prompted us to examine whether, rats, dysfunction are associated. These were characterized as monocyte macrophages. Infiltration macrophages was quantified morphometry. Endothelial function estimated calculating serotonin ratio (maximal contraction on isolated arterial rings endothelium over maximal paired without endothelium). regional distribution similar. Both the carotid artery, less aorta, nonexistent renal artery. A 2-week decreased both (serotonin 32%) number which 38%. conclude macrophage decrease both. observation affect accumulation may lead a better understanding mechanism action class drugs.
