摘要: Data from the GEOS-3 altimeter were analyzed, for both intensive and global modes, to determine altitude bias levels each mode verify accuracy of time tags which have been applied data. The best estimates biases are -5.30 + or - .2 m (intensive mode) -3.55 .4 (global mode). These values include approximately 1.6 offset antenna focal point spacecraft center-of-mass. negative signs indicate that measured altitudes too short. data is corrected by subtracting above numbers respective modes. Timing corrections should be calculated theoretically, subsequently confirmed through crossover analysis passes 6-8 revolutions apart. tag correction consists -20.8 msec 1 interpulse period (10.240512 msec).
