摘要: Summary Capsaicin is a naturally occurring alkaloid derived from chillies that responsible for its hot pungent taste. It an odourless fat soluble compound rapidly absorbed through the skin. thought to produce analgesia by depleting substance P in small fibre nociceptor neurons on which Transient Receptor Potential action channel (subfamily V), type 1 (TRPV1) predominantly located. binds vanilloid receptor TRPV1, acts as molecular integrator of chemical and physical painful stimuli. Topically applied capsaicin useful alleviating pain associated with diabetic neuropathy chronic musculoskeletal pain. used increase bladder capacity reduce incontinence patients hyperactivity. can post-operative nausea vomiting when at acupressure points. may be treat pruritis renal failure protect stomach against non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug induced gastritis. The development analogues TRPV1 antagonists provide more effective better tolerated therapeutic agents future. Synthetic are less target prove efficacious tolerable than treatment inflammatory disease states.
