摘要: Objectives/Hypothesis: Determine the prevalence of ambulatory sinonasal surgical procedures and perioperative outcomes in United States. Methods: The National Survey Ambulatory Surgery 2006 release was examined, extracting all cases nasal or sinus surgery. Sinonasal were grouped according to septoplasty and/or turbinate surgery, facial plastic other procedures. Overall group population-based procedure prevalences estimated from sample. Frequency general anesthesia, discharge status, unexpected emergency room visit estimates obtained. Perioperative complication rates for cardiac arrest, malignant hyperthermia, postoperative emesis, blood transfusion determined as well. Results: Overall, an 600,000 patients underwent with a mean age 40.4 years 53.7% male predominance. On per patient basis, there 260,000 septoplasties, 257,000 cases, 134,000 plastics 103,000 cases. Facial less likely use anesthesia (72.8%) than overall cohort (90.7%, P < .001). The vast majority discharged home admission rate 2.65%. Among sample, no transfusion. postprocedure emesis 1.3%, not significantly different among groups (P = .692). Only 0.1% visited postprocedure. Conclusions: Approximately are performed each year States. Complication mission quite low indicating safety effectiveness setting Laryngoscope, 2010
