摘要: Because of the many functions vitamin A inhuman physiology, deficiency or excess inlactating women their infants can adversely affecttheir health. Infants are born with low body stores A, and rely on inmilk to meet needs. The content milkis related maternal status maternaldietary intake during lactation. Low-income lactating in non-industrialized countrieshave lower milk concentrations than lactatingwomen industrialized countries. Supplementation oflactating countries beta-carotene has resulted inincreased concentrations. However, theoptimal timing dose for sustaining adequate levelsof throughout lactation period not been determined. Furtherresearch is needed understand factors affecting thetransfer milk, evaluate variousstrategies improving mothers infants.
