Near-infrared quantum cutting in RE3+/Yb3+ (RE=Pr, Tb, and Tm): GeO2–B2O3–ZnO–LaF3 glasses via downconversion

摘要: Abstract An efficient near-infrared (NIR) quantum cutting (QC) involving the emission of two photons for each blue photon absorbed is realized in RE 3+ /Yb (RE = Pr, Tb, and Tm): GeO 2 –B O 3 –ZnO–LaF glasses. Upon excitation Pr , Tb Tm ions with visible at 482, 483, 467 nm 950–1100 nm (Yb : F 5/2  →  7/2 ) through an cooperative energy transfer from to Yb optimal efficiency close 200% has been demonstrated. The development oxyfluoride glasses could open a route achieving high silicon-based solar cells by means downconversion part spectrum ∼1000 nm fold increase number.
