摘要: Fifty-four cylinders (2.8 mm in diameter) machined from hot isostatically pressed titania (TI) and titania-hydroxyapatite (TI/HA-15 vol%) sintered at 925°C, as well commercially pure titanium (c.p. Ti), were implanted the fermoral cortical bone of New Zealand white rabbits for 1, 3 12 months. The shear strength between implant was measured by a push-out test. TI/HA composite showed significantly higher bonding to compared c.p. Ti all times, while no differences observed TI c. p. 1 months after implantation. Titania-based materials had than that one year results indicate bioactivity HA contributes early apposition reflected high strength, stability oxide, determines development long-term strength. Both effects may be explained level type ions released ceramic implant. has positive conduction ingrowth limited interaction due extraordinary low ion release vivo. Under light microscopy, similar patterns bone-implant interfaces seen titania-based 3-month samples, indicating biocompatibility these materials. However, histological evaluation microscope cannot identify physical contact chemical implant-bone interface, thus does not give information on mechanism stresses developed.
