摘要: The added prognostic value of cellular DNA content compared with single and combined morphometric factors classical parameters such as tumor size, nodal status, histologic grade estrogen receptor (ER) was investigated in 225 consecutive breast-cancer patients long follow-up. Of all features investigated, the MPI (multivariate index) had strongest [Mantel-Cox (MC) = 48.2, p less than 0.00005]. results further showed that neither age nor ER significant value, but index (DI) a parameter (though weak) significance (MC 5.9, 0.015); similar result obtained percentage S-phase cells 6.1, 0.013). DI (restricted) additional to (MPI plus Mantel-Cox 53.0, 0.0001). no over MPI. On other hand, size status much more impressive 41.0 40.7), although it did not reach Prediction disease outcome linear combination quantitative microscopical primary alone [MAI (mitotic activity index), mean nuclear area] very accurate, even without considering lymph-node 30.8, 0.0005). Grade at (p 0.76). This could be especially important for lymph-node-negative whom MAI are confirmed.
