摘要: IF the nutritional requirements of an intracellular parasite are to be revealed, it must grown axenically in a medium susceptible ultimately chemical analysis. Such cultivation has not yet been achieved for parasite, but some progress made with erythrocyte stages bird malarial Plasmodium lophurae. The single largest complicating factor simplifying culture is red cell extract. This partially replaced by enzyme hydrolysate lactalbumin1 indicating importance supplying appropriate amino-acids. Bowman2 suggested that analysis free amino-acids extract would undoubtedly lead simplification objectives this investigation were: (a) determine amino-acid pool plasma and erythrocytes from normal ducks infected P. lophurae; (b) compare relationships existing between cellular amino-acids; (c) detect deviations malaria.
