摘要: The GABA, antagonist CGP 35348 was intraperito- neally given in doses of 100, 300, and 900 mglkg to old rats. These rats were earlier chronically provided with EEG EMG electrodes. Sleep recordings based on visual inspection made for 3 h post injection, spon- taneous behaviour the recording cage additionally ob- served. With 100 300 mglkg, drug produced an increase duration REM sleep compared saline-injected control group. latency correspondingly re- duced. Non-REM total increased s-shaped dose-response relationship found. Explorative diminished after injections mgl kg 35348. number spike-wave dis- charges reduced all during hours. latter outcomes confirm strong suppressive action this discharges; these effects have also been reported models absence epilepsy. hypnotic properties especially administration deserve attention considering paucity drugs which facilitate sleep. discovery promoting might theoretical as well clinical consequences.
