摘要: Background and Aims Influenza viruses are a serious threat to human health cause thousands of deaths annually. Thus, there is an urgent requirement for the development novel anti-influenza virus drugs. Therefore, aim this study was evaluate viral activity honey from various sources. Methods Antiviral activities samples were evaluated using MDCK cells. To elucidate possible mechanism action honey, plaque inhibition assays used. Synergistic effects with known drugs such as zanamivir or oseltamivir tested. Results Manuka efficiently inhibited influenza replication (IC 50 = 3.6 ± 1.2 mg/mL; CC 82.3 2.2 selective index = 22.9), which related its virucidal effects. In presence 3.13 mg/mL manuka IC reduced nearly 1/1000th their single use. Conclusions Our results showed that in general, particularly has potent inhibitory against virus, demonstrating potential medicinal value.
