摘要: Abstract: Among the areas of classical ethology that still constitute a large portion current research in behavioral biology are social dominance, use characters assessment taxonomic relationships, and variability stereotypy (“fixed” action patterns). Unfortunately, until recently, there have been very few quantitative analyses these areas. In this chapter, I shall consider some ways which three topics analyzed quantitatively. Specifically, discuss (1) application Landau's index to measurement dominance hierarchies, (2) procedures commonly employed numerical taxonomy assess relationships based on non-behavioral characters, how recently applied taxonomies, (3) way and/or measured, primarily by coefficient variation.
