摘要: Background The prevalence and natural history for food protein–induced enterocolitis syndrome (FPIES) have not been determined. Objective We sought to determine the prevalence, clinical manifestations, rate of recovery FPIES in a large-scale, population-based prospective study. Methods In study feeding 13,019 infants was obtained. Infants with probable adverse reactions cow's milk protein (CMP) were clinically examined, skin prick tested, challenged orally. Diagnostic criteria CMP-induced included age less than 9 months, delayed recurrent vomiting (usually nausea), lethargy after exposure CMP absence other IgE-mediated symptoms, such as rash, urticaria, respiratory symptoms. addition, positive challenge response resulted above-mentioned gastrointestinal removal from diet resolution those or both. Results Ninety-eight percent cohort participated cumulative incidence 0.34% (44/13,019 patients). most common symptoms (100%), (77%) diarrhea (25%), pallor (14%), bloody (4.5%). All patients had within first 6 months life. By 3 years, 90% recovered. did detect any concomitant reaction soy. Eight allergy (IgE-CMA). Conclusions is significant, its presentation distinct that IgE-CMA. Most recover, although proportion might convert likelihood cross-reactivity soy this population previously estimated.
