摘要: The purpose of this article is to survey the Herbst bite-jumping method. An outline appliance design and construction given. effects treatment method on dentofacial complex masticatory system have been analyzed with aid dental casts, cephalometric roentgenograms, electromyographic registrations from muscles. use effectiveness in Class II malocclusions are exemplified by clinical cases, some which were followed for 5 years after treatment. most effective malocclusions, provided it used as indicated. Thus, must be limited growing persons only. should not looked upon a last resort only when other approaches failed. Treatment prognosis best subjects brachyfacial growth pattern. Unfavorable growth, unstable occlusal conditions, persisting oral habits potential risk factors relapses. As performed during relatively short period, hard soft tissues (teeth, bone, musculature) would need time adaptation new mandibular position removed. Posttreatment retention routine removable functional therefore recommended.
