摘要: OBJECTIVE To explore the relationships of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) with obesity and metabolic parameters in US children. DESIGN Cross-sectional analysis. We evaluated associations between 25(OH)D multiple measurements adiposity, lipid concentrations, fasting glucose insulin resistance children aged 6-18 years adjustments for covariates. SETTING The National Health Nutrition Examination Survey, 2001-2006. PARTICIPANTS A nationally representative sample 6311 adolescents years. RESULTS Among adolescents, prevalence vitamin deficiency has been especially high older children, girls non-Hispanic Black population. Higher odds were found at a concentration 50 nmol/l under both criteria (OR = 3·27, Ptrend ≤ 0.001). Moreover, increased having abnormal HDL-cholesterol 1·71, 0.001) impaired 4·15, 0·001) deficient compared those normal concentrations. When stratified by gender, we stronger girls. No association any other parameter was found. CONCLUSIONS Our results suggest potential harmful low risk among However, underlying mechanisms require further investigation.
