摘要: PURPOSE: To study the effects of progesterone on an experimental colitis model. METHODS: Wistar albino rats were treated subcutaneously with 2mg/kg once a day during seven days Colitis was induced by intrarectal administration 5mg trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS). Disease activities, macroscopic and microscopic scores evaluated. determine response provoked we measured Colonic malondialdehyde (MDA), TNF alfa, IL-6 Nitric oxide (NO) levels in addition to MPO (Myeloperoxidase) caspase-3 activities. RESULTS: Progesterone ameliorated significantly scores. TNBS-induced increased colonic MDA activities group 2 comparison control group. The results revealed decline MDA, NO, IL6 TNF-α colon tissue blood due therapy 3 when compared 2, significant improvement. treatment associated decreased MPO, alfa activity. CONCLUSION: oxidative damage mucosa.
