摘要: Norway is the largest producer and exporter of farmed Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) worldwide. Skin disorders correlated with bacterial infections represent an important challenge for fish farmers due to economic losses caused. Little known about this topic, thus studying skin–mucus Salmo salar its community depict a step forward in understanding welfare aquaculture. In study, we used label free quantitative mass spectrometry investigate proteins associated both bacteria. particular, microbial temporal proteome dynamics during nine days mucus incubation sterilized seawater was investigated, order evaluate their capacity utilize components growth environment. At start period, proportion (~99%) belonged many these were assigned protecting functions, confirming defensive role mucus. On contrary, after incubation, most detected bacteria, mainly genera Vibrio Pseudoalteromonas. Most predicted secreted affiliated transport metabolic processes. large abundance variety proteases observed, highlighting bacteria degrade salmon.
