摘要: Pathogenic bacteria that cause generalized infections or meningitis invade the blood stream and are thereby distributed throughout body. Blood, serum, contains a number of nonspecific (complement, lysozyme, phagocytes, iron-binding proteins, etc.) specific (antibodies, lymphocytes) agents alone in combination lyse, kill prevent growth majority with which they make contact. Abilities to resist, evade inactivate these host defences constitute major components virulence invasive bacteria. At present little is known about bacterial properties their molecular interactions defences.
