Antecedents of farmers’ willingness to participate in short food supply chains

摘要: Purpose Despite the increasing consumers’ intent to support short food networks, expansion of supply chains (SFSCs) remains limited. The purpose this paper is identify potential antecedents farmers’ willingness participate in SFSCs. Design/methodology/approach Using data from a sample Greek farmers authors examined whether citizenship behaviour, levels their perceived competencies and degree which they feel accepted by communities affect engage SFSCs. Findings Results indicate that producers’ behaviour does indeed have positive impact on SFSCs, whereas perceptions acceptance enjoy within also significantly predict willingness. On contrary, self-perceived lack communication collaboration diminishes willingness. Originality/value To best our knowledge, study one first attempts explore role SFSCs. In addition, integrating concepts derived multiple disciplines, work adds new factors wide spectrum forces impel or suppress take part alternative distribution networks.
