Parental factors associated with obesity in children with disability: a systematic review

摘要: The current literature on obesity in typically developing children shows that the family context, and specifically way parents parent their are major determinants of childhood obesity. influence these factors with disability, however, remains unclear. A systematic review was undertaken to identify parental parenting risk associated adolescents disability. Articles were identified through Medline, Academic Search Complete, PsycINFO, ProQuest, ISI, CINAHL, Cochrane Scopus databases. There no restriction publication dates. inclusion criteria empirical papers tested associations between intellectual other developmental disabilities. Only 11 studies met selection subsequently included this review. Results suggest disability may be socioeconomic status; parents' body mass index, perception attitude towards children's weight physical activity; levels activity both children. Firm conclusions about cannot reached, due mixed findings methodological limitations studies. Recommendations for future research provided.
