摘要: Managed aquifer recharge (MAR) is being used worldwide as a tool to overcome distinct water management challenges. An analysis of MAR case studies from different countries in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) was carried out part larger study focused on compilation global inventory schemes which aims at providing guidance for planning implementation new projects. The were collected freely available scientific publications. These classified according specific type developed, main objective source influent water. Most reported cases (>60%) found Brazil, followed by Mexico Chile. LAC in-channel modification, represents more than half schemes, river storm (together accounting >90% cases). Approximately two-thirds developed maximize natural storage. Publication reports scarce; however, this not due lack projects, but rather suggests insufficient motivation sharing experiences with international community. Nevertheless, has been successfully implemented least ten countries. For four these, estimates annual volume are available—Mexico (156 Mm3), Cuba (115 Peru (36 Mm3) Costa Rica (4 Mm3)—and further 30 Mm3 crudely conservatively calculated remaining (mostly Brazil) bringing total approximately 340 Mm3. application expected grow sustainable reliable address challenges related climate, population economic changes.
