摘要: The congenital absence of the corpus callosum, a brain anomaly frequently noted in humans, has been recently found to occur some mice ddN strain our laboratory. In brains these mice, Probst's longitudinal bundle is always present on both cerebral hemispheres and gives rise aberrant fibers toward midline. this research, neuroanatomical features were studied by iontophoretical injections horseradish peroxidase (HRP) into neocortex acallosal mouse brains. results revealed that which leave are, at least, 3 kinds: namely, run out from anterior portion take U-turn ipsilaterally without crossing midline through septal tissue go back again level where they have left it; commissural its middle cross tiny bridge associated with ventral hippocampal commissure opposite hemisphere; arise posterior accumulate as an anomalous fascicle below cingulum. observation no labeled seen within HRP materials suggests axons are prevented callosum cannot find alternative pathway via commissure.
