摘要: Existing routability-driven placers mostly employ rudimentary and often crude congestion models that fail to account for the complexities in modern designs, e.g., impact of non-uniform wiring stacks, layer directives, partial and/or complete routing blockages, etc. In addition, they are hampered by metrics do not accurately score or represent design congestion. This is large part due non-availability public designs depicting industrial stacks other affecting routability. The aim DAC 2012 placement contest address these issues, way following: (a) release challenging benchmark derived from ASICs, contain information perform both routing, (b) present a new metric, as well an accurate analysis framework evaluate compare routability various algorithms. We hope set benchmarks, along with standard, publicly available evaluation will further advance research placement.
