摘要: Evidence is reviewed here which suggests that antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) may be effective for the treat- ment of impulsivity across a range psychiatric disorders and impulse control cluster B personality disor- ders in particular. AEDs treatment brain circuitry related to impulsivity, by modulat- ing GABA, glutamate, serotonin, norepinephrine. It suggested interventions should directed at modulates core symptoms like shared disorders, rather than disorder itself. In addition these symptom domains, clinicians identify comorbid conditions asso- ciated systems as they can also influence overall response. The increasing ex- perience psychiatrists treating complement knowledge obtained from research. This will lead better understanding mechanisms underlying impulsive domains within more targeted treatments with improved outcomes.
