摘要: Objective: To investigate whether anti-GM2 antibodies in patients with Guillain–Barre syndrome (GBS) are induced by molecular mimicry cytomegalovirus (CMV). Background: Antibodies against ganglioside GM2 frequently present the serum from GBS an antecedent infection CMV. Methods: The authors detected inhibition of reactivity after incubation GM2-reactive samples fibroblasts infected a GBS-associated CMV strain. Control sera consisted GQ1b-reactive samples, and control antigens included uninfected that were other herpes viruses. Results: Serum immunoglobulin M was decreased dose-dependent manner CMV-infected fibroblasts. Incubation anti-GM2-positive varicella zoster virus did not inhibit reactivity, whereas this slightly simplex type 1 one patient. GQ1b react Conclusions: express gangliosidelike epitopes recognize specifically antibodies. These results support hypothesis antiganglioside between infection.
