摘要: Summary Objectives The aim of this study was to identify the genetic relatedness multiple drug-resistant (MDR) Acinetobacter baumannii clinical isolates recovered from a hospital in Los Angeles. Methods Twenty-one MDR A. were collected and their antibiotic susceptibilities determined according Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute guidelines. Genes coding for resistance identified by PCR, identities confirmed DNA sequencing. Clonal relationships studied pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) multilocus sequence typing (MLST). Results consistently correlated with presence oxacillinases, mostly form plasmid-mediated OXA-23 enzyme, which detected 12 (57.1%) isolates. GES-type carbapenemases found 20 (95.2%) strains, AAC all 21 (100%) PER seven (33.3%) IS Aba1 16 (76.2%) association between genes confirms insertion elements as source β-lactamase production. Of isolates, five be related type 1 (ST1) ST2, analyzed MLST. PFGE demonstrated that majority highly (>85%). Conclusions This supports more complete understanding genotyping better assessment strain transmission.
