Pantothenic acid protects jurkat cells against ultraviolet light-induced apoptosis.

摘要: Human leukemic T lymphocytes (Jurkat cells) were induced to undergo apoptosis by brief irradiation with ultraviolet C light (254 nm). This was accompanied accumulation of lipid peroxidation products in the form conjugated dienes, a decrease total glutathione content, and shift its redox state towards oxidized form. Preincubation cells 1 mM pantothenate resulted significant elevation content cells, reaching maximum level, 160% control, after 3 h. Similar increase observed preincubation 5 N-acetylcysteine, known precursor glutathione. Both pantothenic acid N-acetylcysteine alleviated ultraviolet-induced diminished peroxidation, partly protected against produced irradiation.
