摘要: Detailed biological evaluation for laxative properties using established literature methods with white albino rats, was carried out on the infusions of pods following Cassia species, growing in Nigeria: alata L., C. hirsuta occidentalis podocarpa Guill. Et Perr., siamea Lam. and sieberiana L. (Family Caesalpinoidae) acutifolia Del. (Senna) pod tablet leaf as reference standards. Of all species investigated, a dose-dependent relationship observed when fistula, podocarpa, also were tested at dose-range 100mg/kg to 700mg/kg rat presence wet faeces an indication laxation. Indeed, statistically analysis variance well percentage senna-pod action showed that potencies three not significantly different. Hence, fistula obtained from plants cultivated Nigeria, can fact substitute official senna pod/tablets. Key Words: species; activities; relative equivalent. Nig. J. Nat Prod. And Med.
