摘要: Hind wing shape variation was examined in 686 adult Diabrotica virgifera collected from maize plants Europe and the USA Corn Belt, using geometric morphometric techniques. Sexual dimorphism at an Intercontinental scale assessed canonical variates analysis, a multivariate statistical method used to find characters that best distinguish among groups of specimens. Our results showed each populations D. v. investigated this study high levels sex based hind dimorphism. In particular stronger more obvious pattern found than Europe. These support previous studies on show female have elongated wings males. differences raise question whether sexual may be modulated by natural selection.
