摘要: In this issue, Wenes et al. (2016) show that genetic deletion of REDD1, an mTOR inhibitor induced by hypoxia, enhances glycolysis in tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs). Metabolic competition for glucose between TAMs and endothelial cells prevents the formation abnormal, leaky vascular network. Thus, targeting REDD1 stabilizes network inhibits metastasis.
