摘要: Narcolepsy is a severe, incurable, neurological disorder that treated by pharmacological management of its symptoms. The main symptoms are excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) and cataplexy, although addition may require treatment include sleep paralysis, hypnagogic hallucinations, disturbed nocturnal sleep. Sodium oxybate modafinil/armodafinil the first-line treatments for EDS, sodium cataplexy. treats all narcolepsy, whereas modafinil effective EDS only. Alternative medications methylphenidate or amphetamines such as dextroamphetamine, lisdexamfetamine, methamphetamine, combination amphetamine salts. Non-FDA approved cataplexy norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors venlafaxine atomoxetine. Combination therapy can be more modafinil/armodafinil. Medication narcolepsy generally well tolerated usually required life-long does not eliminate narcolepsy.
