Imidazolium-Based Ionic Liquids in Water: Assessment of Photocatalytic and Photochemical Transformation

摘要: The photoinduced transformation of two ionic liquids, 1-methylimidazolium hydrogensulfate (HMIM) and 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium (EMIM), was investigated under photocatalytic conditions in the presence irradiated TiO2. We monitored substrate disappearance, products (TPs), degree mineralization, toxicity systems. Acute measures suggested both cases occurrence more toxic TPs than parent molecules. A total five were detected by HPLC-HRMS from HMIM nine EMIM. Complete mineralization stoichiometric release nitrogen achieved for compounds within 4 h irradiation. photochemical kinetics pathways surface waters (direct photolysis indirect photoreactions) studied EMIM, to assess its persistence sunlit water bodies such as rivers or lakes.
