摘要: Cyclic parthenogenesis, the alternation of parthenogenetic and sexual reproduction, can lead to a wide scope population structures, ranging from almost monoclonal genetically highly diverse populations. In addition, reproduction in aquatic cyclic parthenogens is associated with production dormant stages, which both enhance potential gene flow among populations as well impact local evolutionary rates through formation egg banks. Members cladoceran genus Daphnia are widely distributed key organisms freshwater habitats, mostly exhibit this mode. We assessed patterns genetic variation within eurytopic morphologically variable species longispina, using data nuclear (13 microsatellite loci) mitochondrial (partial sequencing 12S rRNA gene) markers set sampled across Europe. Most were characterized by very high clonal diversity, reflecting an important low levels selection. Among-population differentiation was for markers, no strong pattern isolation distance observed. also did not observe any substantial traditionally recognized morphotypes D. longispina. Our findings within-population combined among-population line predictions monopolization hypothesis, suggests that rapid growth adaptation, priority effects due resources reduced flow.
