摘要: With the ban of tributyltin, copper-based biocides are now widely used in antifouling coatings as major active ingredients. Given past experience heavy-metal accumulation harbors with limited water exchange, there is a significant interest developing copper materials that greatly reduce amount ions released into marine surroundings. In this paper, nanowires (NWs) encapsulated polymer matrices investigated means to control release and achieve long-lasting effect. Very long CuNWs high aspect ratio organic solution drop-coated onto substrates fabricate uniform thin films. They then incorporated an elastomeric polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) matrix. A small PDMS can inhibit barnacle cyprid settlement, while it exhibits low mortality cyprids nauplii present surrounding seawater environment. The levels after 50 days suggest intersecting interconnected embedded could potentially continuously over few years seawater. This approach provides novel platform use hybrid effective coatings, may be applied fouling enhance their properties.
