摘要: 6 ABSTRACT: Objective: To study goiter and thyroid dysfunction in female adolescents residing Lahore referred to Centre for Nuclear Medicine (CENUM), Mayo Hospital scanning function tests. Design: Retrospective of size, scan patterns serum FT 4 TSH levels. Setting: Hospital, Patients: 350 adolescent during September 2002 April 2003. Main outcome measures: goiter, nodules, hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, Gravesi disease, toxic multinodular goiter. Results: Among 212(60.6%) had various grades mostly visible. goiterous patients 136(64.2%) diffuse 76 (35.8%) nodular presentation. The number with solitary (20.7%) was more than (15.1%) cold nodule (16.5%) functioning (4.2%). incidence biochemical dysfunction, both overt subclinical, detected 42(19.8%) significantly frequent presentation (29% VS 14.7%; p<0.001) (p<0.005). More 80% the were euthyroid. Simple 116(54.7%), disease 5(2.4%) goitre 4(1.9%) patients. Overall hypothyroidism double as compared hyperthyroidism. Incidence nodularity large but duration not signifi- cant promoting nodularity. Conclusion: Goiterous need urgent attention because they donit have just hypertro- phy normal function.
