摘要: Many gram-negative bacteria employ N-acylhomoserine lactones (AHL) to regulate diverse physiological processes in concert with cell population density (quorum sensing [QS]). In the plant pathogen Erwinia carotovora, AHL synthesized via carI/expI genes are responsible for regulating production of secreted wall-degrading exoenzymes and antibiotic carbapen-3-em carboxylic acid. We have previously shown that targeting product an synthase gene (yenI) from Yersinia enterocolitica chloroplasts transgenic tobacco plants caused synthesis planta cognate signaling molecules N-(3-oxohexanoyl)-L-homoserine lactone (3-oxo-C6-HSL) N-hexanoylhomoserine (C6-HSL), which turn, were able complement a carI-QS mutant. present study, we demonstrate potato containing yenI also express presence level these increases susceptibility infection by E. carotovora. Susceptibility is further affected both bacterial tissue under investigation.
