摘要: Argan oil is widely used in Morocco traditional medicine. Its ability to treat cardiovascular diseases well-established. However, nothing known about its effects on neurodegenerative diseases, which are often associated with increased oxidative stress leading lipid peroxidation and the formation of 7-ketocholesterol (7KC) resulting from cholesterol auto-oxidation. As 7KC induces stress, inflammation cell death, it important identify compounds able impair harmful effects. These may be either natural or synthetic molecules mixtures such as oils. In this context: (i) profiles dietary argan oils Berkane Agadir (Morocco) fatty acids, phytosterols, tocopherols polyphenols were determined by different chromatographic techniques; (ii) their anti-oxidant cytoprotective 158N murine oligodendrocytes cultured (25–50 µM; 24 h) without (0.1% v/v) α-tocopherol (400 µM, positive control) evaluated complementary techniques cellular molecular biology. Among unsaturated acids present oils, oleate (C18:1 n-9) linoleate n-6) most abundant; highest quantities saturated palmitate (C16:0) stearate (C18:0). Several phytosterols found, mainly schottenol spinasterol (specific oil), cycloartenol, β-amyrin citrostadienol. α- γ-tocopherols also present. Tyrosol protocatechic acid only detected. extra virgin olive have many common, principally linoleate, tocopherols. Kit Radicaux Libres (KRL) ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) tests showed that properties. attenuate cytotoxic cells: loss adhesion, growth inhibition, plasma membrane permeability, mitochondrial, peroxisomal lysosomal dysfunction, induction oxiapoptophagy (OXIdation + APOPTOsis autoPHAGY). Altogether, our data obtained provide evidence counteract toxic nerve cells, thus suggesting some could prevent mitigate extent they cross blood‐brain barrier.
