摘要: To evaluate the effect of population-based cervical cancer screening on occurrence in The Netherlands, we investigated incidence and survival registered by a registry Greater Amsterdam area. rate squamous cell carcinoma decreased significantly from 9.2/100 000 women 1988 to 5.9/100 2000 (Po0.001). adenocarcinomas remained stable. After adjustment for age, stage lymph node involvement, relative risk death was 1.6 times higher patients with than (95% CI 1.2–2.1). related histological type, as significant after correction confounding factors. Over time, prognosis improved significantly. No change observed diagnosed adenocarcinoma. These results suggest that programme Netherlands executed area is associated increased carcinoma, but fails detect (pre)malignant lesions Since more 92% its precursors contain high-risk HPV, adding HPV testing cytologic might improve present detecting adenocarcinoma precursor lesions.
